Three-time Grand Slam Stan Wawrinka is currently recovering from a foot injury that ended his 2021 season in March this year. But a while ago, the Swiss star announced his entry into the NFT market with Ball Man Project. Interestingly, the SpaceX boss Elon Musk is now looking to get on board with Wawrinka, or is he not?
Earlier, Wawrinka also shared a glimpse of what Ball Man Project NFTs might consist of on Twitter. Notably, the one he showed to announce the sales opening date portrayed his famous 2016 US Open victory. Is that what got the attention of the richest man in the world? No; Funnily enough, it was a fake tweet and Wawrinka anyways responded to it.
Stan Wawrinka responds to Elon Musk’s fake tweet about his NFTs
Before Wawrinka, women’s tennis greats Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka had already forayed into the NFT space. But what’s more interesting, the Stan Wawrinka x Ball Man Project thought they got the eye of the CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk. Or probably for publicity?
“Thinking about sending ballman to the moon,” the tweet with Elon Musk’s name appeared on social media. Naturally, it must have left millions intrigued, including the former World No.3.
Later on, Wawrinka and Ball Man Project both separately responded to that tweet. He wrote,“Let’s goooo to the moon.” Besides, the sales are now less than a week away; they start on 25th November 2021.

Accordingly, the 36-year-old Swiss will promote this for the coming few days. Only time will tell if the fake Musk tweet will impact the sales or not.
Tennis-wise, Stan the Man has begun training again to restore 100% fitness. Although he missed most of the 2021 season, he will be looking forward to making up for it next year.

Given his regular training videos on social media, Wawrinka’s comeback might be sooner than fans feared. Besides, he is hoping to give his all out before he hangs his tennis racquet.

Wawrinka might return to the Australian Open 2022
Indeed, with his full-fledged training videos, Wawrinka has increased hopes for his return to Melbourne Park in January 2022. This year, the Swiss star had some disappointing results and would aim to change them next year.

Above all, Wawrinka must gain 100% fitness to remain competitive with the rising talents on the ATP Tour. Only time will tell how much his long break would affect his tennis.
