WATCH: Russell Westbrook Knocks Dennis Schroder to the Floor for No Reason After Bad Pass
In an insane sequence of events during the game against the Celtics, Russell Westbrook of the Lakers pushed Dennis Schröder for no reason. Right before the end of the first half, Jayson Tatum managed a steal off of Westbrook’s pass at half court. After getting dunked on in the fast break, Russell Westbrook inadvertently pushed off Dennis Schröder, who was running with Tatum on the break.
From Westbrook’s reaction, it seemed like a mistake more than an intentional push. And the referees agreed by giving Dennis a blocking foul. However, are these mistakes happening more than usual now? First, let’s look at the sequence of events that happened at today’s game.

What does this mean for Russell Westbrook?
For the Lakers, these inadvertent blunders have become a common occurrence in games. Especially since the injury to LeBron James who has had an aggressive return from injury in tonight’s game. However, Westbrook clearly struggled tonight as Mr. Triple Double was nowhere near one in this game.
And this isn’t the first time. Even in the game against the Bucks, the Lakers looked distraught after the loss. Especially since there were a lot of unforced turnovers and plays where the defense just broke down. The Lakers looked like they were all over the place.

Westbrook’s unconventional creativity with the passes often comes with a price. He has the most turnovers averaged this season. At a time he was averaging 6 turnovers per game, this season. Which has often made Lakers fans wonder if they made the right choice,
His recklessness has often cost them inefficient results in crucial plays. Nevertheless, these events only resulted in a blocking foul for Schroeder, since the referees could see that the push was not intentional. But somehow, it does seem careless.

Hopefully, for the Lakers fans, Westbrook and Davis can now improve their chemistry considering LeBron James is back. Especially since how much this super team was hyped before the start of the season, they will hope to improve their form.
However, such reckless sequences can not become a common occurrence if the Lakers are to successfully make a run for the playoffs.
