For once, Elon Musk wasn’t the most important person in the room as his son, X AE A-Xii, completely stole his thunder during a recent work video conference.
The entrepreneur hosted a virtual Space X presentation via Zoom last week to share an update on Starship, a fully reusable spacecraft, while speaking at the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.
It seemed Elon, 50, had to balance his work schedule with being a dad as 18-month-old X AE A-Xii was seen perched on his lap during the video call.
X AE A-Xii, who the businessman shares with singer Grimes, made his presence known by chatting away, making babbling noises, animated facial expressions and waving his arms around.
Elon mostly laughed off the distraction but it seems the Tesla boss struggled to concentrate as someone later came to whisk X AE A-Xii away, leaving his dad to focus on business.
X AE A-Xii is Elon’s first child with Grimes, real name Claire Boucher, and was welcomed in May 2020. The couple went viral after they revealed the unique name they chose for him before later clarifying that it is pronounced Ex Ash A 12.

Elon, who is also father to six children from previous relationships, opened up about becoming a dad again when X AE A-Xii was a newborn.
He explained to the New York Times: ‘Babies are just eating and pooping machines, you know? Right now there’s not much I can do.
‘Grimes has a much bigger role than me right now. When the kid gets older, there will be more of a role for me.’

In September, it was announced that Elon and Grimes had split after three years together but were co-parenting amicably.
Elon told Page Six at the time: ‘We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms.’
