I’m A Celebrity 2021 is so close that we can practically hear the buzz of millions of critters waiting to be let loose on the celebrity contestants.

This year, the intrepid celebrities have once again swapped the Australian jungle for a Welsh castle in the wake the ongoing coronavirus pandemic – but that hasn’t made it any less entertaining, with the likes of Richard Madeley, Frankie Bridge, and Louise Minchin battling it out for the chance to earn the title of King or Queen of the castle.

It’s a pretty strong line-up this year to be sure – but just how much are the celebrities being paid to endure camp life and chow down on animal testicles for our entertainment?

Here’s what you need to know about those celebrity pay packets…

Richard, 65, is said to have agreed to a huge contract worth an estimated £200,000.

Celebrities can be expected to make anything from £30,000 to £600,000 for their time on the show, depending on how famous and well-known they are, according to the Mirror.

Last year, Mo Farah was reportedly the highest-paid contestant on the show, having made £300,000.

Meanwhile, former Strictly star AJ Pritchard and Paralympian Hollie Arnold MBE are said to have received £50,000.

The celebrities get paid a flat fee for appearing on the show – they don’t receive more for avoiding elimination for longer, or even for winning.

Who is the highest-paid I’m A Celebrity contestant of all time?

While the stars’ earnings have not been revealed, Noel Edmonds is thought to be the highest-paid I’m A Celebrity contestant of all time, having reportedly bagged a whopping £600,000 back in 2018.

Caitlyn Jenner, who appeared on the show in 2019, and Harry Redknapp, in 2018, are both said to have walked away with a huge fee of £500,000.

Ian Wright wasn’t that far behind that with a reported pay packet of £400,000.

I’m A Celebrity 2021 starts tonight at 9pm on ITV.
