Terence Crawford Discards Errol Spence Jr. as the Best Welterweight
Terence Crawford once again proved to the world why he’s the most skilled and dominant champ of the welterweight division. The WBO champ entered a title defense bout against Shawn Porter. Before this fight, Crawford seemed an easy winner, but the tables turned when the actual fight took place.
The underdog Porter shook Crawford with his aggressive approach and he kept the fight leveled. However, ‘Bud’ knocked him down twice in the fight, to eventually get his hand raised. This was a star-studded event, and many bigwigs of the sport attended it. One of the many hotshots who marked themselves present for this event was Errol Spence Jr.
Spence Jr. was ringside for this fight, and as soon as Porter lost, he left the arena in disguise. Later, in the post-fight interview, Crawford was asked about the same.
To which he responded, “He was there at my fight?”

“Well, you see what I did, compared to what he did. Aye listen, who’s the number one in the welterweight division now?” he added.
Crawford and Porter’s fight came out better than expected. To everyone’s surprise, ‘Showtime’ stunned Crawford with his daunting approach. Moreover, he cut the distance well to land his hooks on the champ.
Crawford studied Porter early. Later, he began his assault on the challenger. Finally, after many exchanges, ‘Bud’ struck Porter with some blistering left hooks in round 10, knocking him down twice. Post that, Porter’s father and trainer, Kenny Porter, stepped up and asked the referee to stop the bout.
