WATCH: Jimmy Butler Involved in Another NBA Fight as Bradley Beal Calms Heated Situation

On a day that was expected to be relatively lukewarm for the NBA, given that there were no magnanimous clashes, a sequence from the Washington Wizards-Miami Heat game broke the monotony. Days after his infamous feud with Nikola Jokic, Jimmy Butler was involved in another ugly scuffle.

Characteristically, Butler treated this relatively unimportant fixture like a playoff game. Hence, he went all guns blazing against the Wizards, who were still recovering from back-to-back losses.

However, this didn’t sit well with Danny Avidja, who came off the bench for the struggling Wizards. Avidja, who was guarding Butler, had to bear consistent trash-talking from Butler while the latter cooked the Wizards from the paint.

In one of the sequences during the game, Butler earned a foul as Avidja knocked him to the ground. Post that, the Wizards player openly displayed his frustration as he slammed the ball to the ground.

Sensing an impending outburst from the young star, Bradley Beal and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope stepped in to calm his nerves. Unfortunately for Butler, his partner in crime, Kyle Lowry, had a terrible night. Shooting 25 percent on 12 field goal attempts and 14.3 percent on 7 three-point attempts, Lowry struggled throughout his 36 minutes on the court.

Kyle Kuzma and Spencer Dinwiddie Rescue Wizards From Jimmy Butler

Even as Miami Heat dominated the first three quarters, the Wizards completely flipped the script in the exciting fourth quarter. Going on a swift 19-6 run, the Wizards significantly cut down Miami Heat’s Lead.

In the final few minutes, Spencer Dinwiddie nailed a clutch three to give Washington the lead. Post that, Kyle Kuzma, who wasn’t having the best game on offense, made four clutch free throws after being fouled twice, sealing the game for the Wizards, 103-100.

On the defensive end, Montrezl Harrell continued to prove his efficiency, grabbing 7 rebounds and 2 steals. He also had 13 points to go with them, completing another good game.

Franchise cornerstones Bradley Beal and Spencer Dinwiddie also fired on all cylinders, scoring 21 and 16 points, respectively.

Overall, the Wizards made another huge leap towards proving to critics that this dream run isn’t a fluke. By closing out a nail-biter against a formidable side like the Heat, Beal and co. displayed that they can hold their own against quality oppositions.

Will the Wizards be able to maintain this hot streak? Let us know in the comments below.
