Rhea Ripley has earned the approval of WWE boss Vince McMahan and impressed him with her performances alongside Nikki A.S.H.

The odd-couple pairing delighted fans en route to the Women’s Tag Team Championships, and the chairman has been similarly on board with the way their contrasting style and personalities have come together so well.

Speaking in Brooklyn, New York before Sunday night’s Survivor Series event, she exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘He was really happy with what we’re doing. They love her Almost A Superhero thing.

‘She comes bursting through the gorilla curtains really excited like she always is, she puts a smile on everyone’s faces. And then he turns to me and he’s like, “…Brutal.” I’m like, “Sick! I’m doing my job!” ‘

Rhea and Nikki have shown great chemistry on screen, and it turns out life has imitated art as their friendship blossomed as they started to work together.

‘We didn’t really hang out beforehand, and now she’s one of my favourite people in the world. Like, I loved her before but now we are so close,’ she smiled.

‘We’re roommates, we’re travel buddies, we’re tag champs. I love the girl, I think she’s absolutely hilarious so it’s really nice to see where bonds form.’

The pairing seemed to come out of the blue on screen, with the Nightmare coming out of the Raw Women’s Title picture and finding herself with Nikki, who had recently undergone a major character change.

‘It was random, really really random,’ Rhea admitted. ‘At first I was like, why? But I love it now. Nikki – even though she’s a pain in the bum, I do love her so much. She really does make my time at work so enjoyable.

‘She makes me laugh on the regular, and not many people can make me laugh the way that she does. I adore her so much. She keeps me positive and looking at the brighter side.

‘And I think I keep her grounded and thinking more about herself and victories and not always pleasing people. So, I think it’s a good balance.

‘She’s really small, and I’m really big so that always works together. I like throwing people and she’s the only superhero that can’t fly, so if I pick her up and throw her, it’s like she’s flying, right?!’

Rhea has spoken to Metro.co.uk before about how going ‘full Aussie’ would show a whole other side to her, and while now she’s liking showing off other aspects of her personality, she won’t be donning her own cape and mask anytime soon.

‘I don’t think I could pull off the colours and the cape,’ she laughed. ‘She put a cape on me the other day because they’re selling them on WWEShop.com and oh my God! I look ridiculous!

‘I can’t pull off a cape like she can! Even if it was black, I don’t think I could pull it off.’
