“You Win Some, You Lose Some”: Tyson Fury Reacts to His Brother’s TKO Loss
Saturday night, Dan Azeez claimed the vacant British light-heavyweight title as he stopped former champion, Hosea Burton, in the seventh round at Wembley Arena. Tyson Fury, cousin brother of Hosea Burton, was in attendance at the event.
After the seventh round TKO defeat of his brother, ‘The Gypsy King’ shared his thoughts on Hosea Burton’s performance. He suggested that losses are a part of the game and that it simply wasn’t his night.
“Disappointing yeah because I know how hard he worked for the fight and I know how much it meant to him. But you know, it’s boxing, you win some, you lose some,” said Tyson.
Tyson Fury also pointed out that his Hosea Burton‘s weight definitely factored into his loss; he said that losing that kind of weight at age 33 ultimately cost him this British championship bout.

“Overall, he’d done alright, he dug deep, showed plenty of heart in that but it just wasn’t his night tonight. After two rounds, he looked tired and I think the weights killed him. He’s 33 now, so to get down to 12 and a half stone, he’s six foot four, it’s too much for him, it’s killing him at the weight,” added Tyson Fury.
The Fury family’s legacy currently lies in the hands of Tommy Fury
Up until February 2021, Tommy Fury was fighting pro boxers with way more losses than wins on their professional records. After building up a 5-0 record, Fury finally decided to face Jordan Grant, an undefeated fighter, with 2 wins earlier in June this year.
However, ‘TNT’ again had to drop down to fighting a part-time MMA fighter, Anthony Taylor (0-1), on August 29 on the undercard of a Showtime PPV main event – Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley.
His placement on the undercard was no coincidece; Tommy Fury and Jake Paul are now all set to head into a mega fight on December 18. With Jake Paul’s level of fame, this fight could turn out to be a make-or-break for Tommy Fury.
Considering that the Fury family name’s legacy is at stake here, the 22-year old is now being trained by his brother, Tyson Fury. ‘The Gypsy King’ recently shared a clip of him sitting alongside his 22-year-old brother. He revealed that it was the first day on the job for him as a trainer.
‘Just finished me first day as a trainer, first morning rather. I’m really happy with meself the way things went, all the boys trained hard,” Tyson said. He then looked at Tommy and asked how he felt after day 1 under his guidance.
“The run this morning was good, good light work, feeling good, feeling fit, trainer team’s doing the best job!” said Tommy Fury.

Tyson Fury then asked his brother for a prediction for his fight with Jake Paul, he replied, “Jake’s getting knocked spark out, two rounds”.
Followed by the 22-year-old’s prediction of an early KO, Tyson Fury also warned his brother’s opponent -“Jake Paul, we’re coming for you”.
