Young Dolph ‘didn’t know he had beef’ with other rappers like Soulja Boy & Yo Gotti before he was shot dead in Memphis

YOUNG Dolph allegedly didn’t know he had “beef” with other rappers like Soulja Boy and Yo Gotti prior to the Memphis, Tennessee, shooting that left him dead.

The rapper —whose real name is Adolph Robert Thornton Jr — was fatally shot at Makeda’s Cookies in Memphis on November 17, 2021.

The 36-year-old musician, who was not married but leaves behind two children, was “unaware of any ongoing beef” with other rappers before his tragic death, TMZ reported.

According to the website, sources said the Memphis native was excited to be in his hometown and had “booked a week full of charity events for his community.”

Dolph also had “no fear of hitting the streets of Memphis without security guards,” TMZ reported.

Despite Dolph’s unexpected attack, no known feuds have been connected to his murder.

Meanwhile, Young Dolph reportedly had bitter feuds with rival rappers from Yo Gotti to Soulja Boy before his shooting death.

And Dolph’s shooting wasn’t the first time the rapper was hit by gunfire as he was hospitalized for two weeks after a shooting 2017.

He later claimed: “I’ve been targeted since I was 17, 18, 19,” according to The Guardian.

As fans of Dolph mourn the rapper’s shocking death and an investigation of the deadly incident is underway, here’s a look into how the star clashed with some rivals.

SOULJA BOY

The rapper was reportedly in rap beef with Soulja Boy, who had been at odds on social media over money and their careers.

There is no suggestion that Soulja Boy is connected with Young Dolph’s slaying, and he has not been named as a suspect.

A week before Dolph was gunned down, Soulja Boy was on Instagram Live speaking to his followers when a fan brought up Dolph’s name.

“Man, today was about me and Kanye, cause me and Kanye just made amends you feel me. How the f*** we end up talking about Dolph’s lame a** , God damn, clout chasing h** a**,” the Pretty Boy Swag rapper said.

“Man, stop playing I’ll put a $100 [000] ball on this n***** head. N**** ain’t ever play with me, last n**** that played with me I shot him. I don’t do the shoot get shot at, I’ll do the shooting at n*****.

“I bet a $100,000 this n***** won’t give me an address how about that. Look, I got a $100k cash. Look, DM the address and you can have all this in my hand how about that.”

Before Soulja’s rant about Dolph, the 100 Shots rapper took to Instagram on November 10 to slam his foe, saying: “How da f*** I’m a independent artist and gettin 100rax plus for a show?

“How da f*** @keyglock got more cars & ice than you & your ceo?”

Soulja Boy caught wind of Dolph’s comments online and snapped back, writing: “That’s big cap. They signed to @empire I’m really 100% Independent no cap.”

He then went on to address Dolph and his team directly in the Instagram video, saying: “Man, Young Dolph, if you don’t get your b*** ass artist out my m***f**** DM, n***.”

“F**** you talkin’ bout, n***? N*** thought he was bulletproof ’til he got shot like Dolph, n*** F*** you talkin’ ’bout, n***? Ain’t you the n**** getting shot at 100 times?

“Ain’t you the n**** getting popped and shot at all the time?

“Y’all b***a*** n**** better get out of my DM. F*** Paper Route. F**** Key Glock. F**** Young Dolph. F*** all y’all n***.”

RAP BEEF

Soulja Boy was referencing the time in 2017 when Dolph’s car was shot over 100 times in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the time Dolph was shot in Los Angeles a few months later.

It is unclear if Dolph responded to Soulja Boy’s message at the time.

And Soulja Boy was dropped from an upcoming FedExForum show in the wake of Dolph’s slaying as new surveillance footage reportedly shows shooting suspects.

The deceased rapper was also rumored to have had rap beef with Yo Gotti for several years.

YO GOTTI

Rapper Yo Gotti, whose real name is Mario Sentell Giden Mims, opened up about reports of a feud between him and Young Dolph in 2017, according to Billboard.

The “Rake It Up” rapper spoke out as he was under watch as a suspect after Young Dolph was shot several times.

Yo Gotti told Lenard Larry McKelvey, a rapper professionally as Charlamagne tha God, that he and Young Dolph “never had one argument — ever in life.”

He explained: “We never touched each other ever in life, we never exchanged no money ever in life.

“The fact is, I’m the biggest rapper from Memphis, I help a lot of rappers from Memphis. I don’t know, I can’t really think about what it is.”

He insisted that he used to assist Young Dolph with advice and even recounted a text he sent back in 2012.

Part of the alleged text read: “You in a good space in Memphis but you gotta take that s**t from there to the world and it’s gon’ turn into money.

“I like your grind my n***a; when I was in your position, none of them n***** as who could’ve helped me did.”
