Adele’s best mate Alan Carr provided some giggles for viewers when he quizzed the singer about her ex partners during Sunday night’s special programme.

The singer, 33, marked her return to stage in style with ITV special, An Audience With Adele.

The one-off was filmed at the London Palladium earlier this month, in view of an audience packed full of celebrity friends and very lucky fans.

As well as belting out some old and new classics, Adele was asked some juicy questions by fellow celebs including Stormzy, Samuel L Jackson and England manager Gareth Southgate.

But it was close friend Alan who asked a more personal question, which provided an answer everyone could relate to.

He asked the hitmaker, who is famed for writing songs about love and relationships: ‘If your exes wrote a song about you, what would it be called and what would it sound like?’ he asked. ‘We wanna know everything!’

‘It’d probably be called “No One Like You”, I imagine,’ Adele joked, referring to her hit song, Someone Like You.

She continued: ‘And, erm… also, I can’t imagine any of them would really be able to do it, because most of them couldn’t even do a normal daily task… most of them, not all of them!

‘So yeah, I don’t think they could get away with it,’ she laughed, before returning to her mic stand.

Adele proceeded to go straight into her hit song Rolling In The Deep, much to the delight of Emma Thompson, who got everyone up dancing.

It wasn’t the only moment of laughter Alan provided during the show, as he came to his friend’s aid when she needed to take a minute to have her makeup fixed after a very emotional segment.

Adele was surprised by her old English teacher Miss McDonald, after actress Emma asked her to name someone who helped inspire her when she was younger.

Lo and behold, her teacher was sat in the audience and brought up on stage to reunite with her former pupil, leaving Adele and millions of viewers in tears.

In the meantime, Alan was drafted up into her place and asked to perform a rendition of Someone Like You.

Although he wasn’t quite up to Adele’s vocal standard, he provided some much-needed laughs for the audience after a very tearful few minutes.

An Audience With Adele can be streamed on the ITV Hub now.
