BTS came out on top at the 2021 American Music Awards, winning three awards including artist of the year.
We’re sure the ARMY will have no debate about that.
The K-pop superstars won the awards for pop group – their third time winning in that category – and pop song for their summer smash Butter, before beating Taylor Swift, Drake, Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo and The Weeknd to the artist of the year prize.
RM, Suga, Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook and J-Hope were in attendance at the Los Angeles ceremony, and RM admitted that he was nervous as he gave their acceptance speech.
He said: ‘I seriously forgot what I gotta say. Thank you AMAs. We’re truly honoured to be on this stage with such amazing, tremendous artists right over here. We’re so honoured.
‘Four years ago, we had given this first-time-ever TV live performance at this stage AMAs for DNA. We were so excited and nervous at the time. And it’s been a long and amazing ride since then, but nobody could have ever bet on the odds of us standing here receiving this award. Except for the ARMY.

‘Seven boys from Korea, united by a love for music, met the love and support from all the ARMY all over the world.’
RM added that they would ‘never take this for granted’, before Jungkook said: ‘We just want to make people happy with our music. We believe that there’s a world to open in the beginning of our new chapter. We learned in the past two years that each and every moment is precious.’
BTS also performed at the AMAs, joining Coldplay to sing their collaboration My Universe.
The band have made history as the first Korean band to take the artist of the year, and the first non-Americans to do so since One Direction’s win in 2015.

Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat also had big nights, with three wins apiece.
Megan, who dropped out of her planned performance of Butter with BTS due to ‘an unexpected personal matter’, won favourite trending song for Body, favourite female hip-hop artist and favourite hip-hop album for Good News.
Doja’s collaboration with Sza, Kiss Me More, was named collab of the year, while she also won the gongs for favourite female R&B artist and favourite R&B album for Planet Her.
Other winners included Olivia Rodrigo, who was named new artist of the year, Lil Nas X, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift.
Host Cardi B also took home an award for her hit Up.
