I gave up my job to care for my sick wife but now I feel useless

DEAR DEIDRE: I GAVE up my train-driver job to care for my sick wife but the drop in money is horrible.

I used to bring home hundreds a week but now I earn a pittance.

It seemed the right thing to do to look after her but somehow I feel useless

I am 59 and my wife is 61. We have been married for 30 years.

She battles with several health issues and struggles with simple tasks for herself or around the house.

It seemed the right thing to do to look after her but somehow I feel useless and I don’t know why.
