The Qatar Grand Prix was a spectacular race, but what was even more exciting is the famous personalities that were present. One of them was football legend, David Beckham. Beckham even congratulated his fellow countryman, Lewis Hamilton after winning the race.

The ex-Manchester United player was a guest of McLaren for this past weekend. But that didn’t stop him from congratulating the Mercedes driver for his win at the Qatar Grand Prix.

Athletes always recognize when another athlete is on top of their game. Hence, it wasn’t a surprise to see the football star recognize the talent of a Formula One driver after winning a Grand Prix.

Beckham took to Instagram and wrote, “Congratulations on your win champ Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso on your podium finishes.”

Hamilton looking forward to the last two races of the season

There is no doubt that the 2021 season has been an exciting one. Hamilton is challenging for his eighth title in F1, while his arch-rival, Max Verstappen is hoping to grab his first. Both have pushed each other to the limit, creating an impressive title fight. However, it is the Dutch driver who leads the championship by just eight points, but Hamilton is hoping to have an edge over the Red Bull driver in the next two races.

He said, “I don’t really have too much emotion except for [being] driven right now. But it’s amazing… To close that gap so many points in these last few races has been important. They’re obviously still very fast as you could see today with their fastest lap and both their cars getting past pretty much everyone quite easily. So we’ve still got our work cut out and a big shame for Valtteri today.”

[But] I feel positive going into these next couple of races. I think they should be quite good for our car, so I’m looking forward to that battle,” the Mercedes driver concluded.

With the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix scheduled for next weekend, Lewis will be hoping to grab another win this season; bridging the gap even closer to the Red Bull prodigy.
