WATCH: Russell Westbrook Stopped After Attempting to Throw Hands During Lakers vs Pistons Brawl

The Los Angeles Lakers’ woes continue as LeBron James gets ejected for the second time in his career. Following a bizarre set of events that led to this, fans on social media could not believe what they were seeing. And now, upon a closer look, it has come to light that along with LeBron James, Russell Westbrook was also ready for all the smoke from the fight.

According to footage released on social media, among the tussle of the fight, it was spotted that even Russell Westbrook was ready to throw arms and “square up”. He had to be forcefully held back to ensure he didn’t get involved in the heated action. And it seems like it was a smart decision since without Westbrook as well, this team would not have come back in the fourth quarter like they did.

Russell Westbrook was ready for all the smoke

In an insane sequence of events that led to the bleeding of Isiah Stewart, the footage shows that things could have gotten much worse for the Lakers. Had Westbrook not been held back, would the Lakers be able to mount this comeback? Highly doubtful of that.

Mr. Triple Double has recently struggled with his performance, especially in the clutch moments of the game. However, he scored 15 of his 26 points in the last quarter to push for an exceptional comeback after being down by 15 points at the end of the third quarter.

What does this mean for LeBron James and the Lakers?

Following what was only the second ejection in his entire career, LeBron James still maintained his streak for games with double-digit points. He only played 21 minutes on the floor tonight before getting ejected for this fight.

He might look at some more missed time after only recently coming back from injury. Russell and Davis did take over and carry the team to a victory in the fourth quarter. However, it was against a relatively weaker Detroit Pistons.

Cade Cunningham had an exceptional performance for the Pistons with a triple-double. But it was not enough to beat Mr. Triple Double. Do you think this game could be an optimistic sign for the Lakers fans that Russ is regaining his confidence? Clearly, he’s ready to give his 100% on every team he is on. But is Westbrook the answer for these streaky games for the Lakers?
We’ll have to wait to be patient to see how that goes.
