Roger Federer Earns Less Than One-Tenth of Novak Djokovic’s On-Court Earnings in 2021
Fans were delighted to watch 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer back on the court this year. Even though he featured in just five tournaments, he managed to entertain the fans with his brilliant skills.
Roger Federer last played a professional match at the Wimbledon Championships 2021. Although he reached the quarters of the Grand Slam, Hubert Hurkacz defeated him in straight sets there.
How much prize money did Roger Federer win in 2021?
Most of Federer’s earnings come from his endorsements and sponsorship deals, which makes him one of the highest-paid athletes in the world. However, the former World No.1 is also one of the players who has earned the highest amount of prize money on the court to date.

In the 2021 season, since Federer participated in just five tournaments and failed to win any of them, he isn’t even in the list of the top-20 players who earned the most prize money. The Swiss Maestro made just $647,656 from his on court earnings this year.

Players who earned the maximum amount of prize money this year
On the men’s side, World No.1 Novak Djokovic emerged as the player who had the highest on-court earnings. The Serbian legend won five titles this year and accumulated a total of $9,069,225 during the season. Thus, the Swiss Maestro earned less than even 10% of what Nole won on the court this year.

Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Andrey Rublev are the other high earners in the 2021 tennis season. They earned $7,466,284, $6,361,173, $3,503,608, and $3,131,467 respectively.
As a result, Federer stands nowhere among these players. Even the No.20 on the list, Grigor Dimitrov, who had a total of $1,369,343 from his on-court earnings, bagged more than twice of what Federer did.
Roger Federer recently stunned his fans after announcing that he won’t be able to feature at the Australian Open 2022. Surprisingly, there are even doubts over his participation at the Wimbledon Championships 2022. However, his supporters hope that the 40-year-old makes an incredible comeback.
