Scooter Gennett’s harsh comments on Carlos Correa
Scooter Gennett has not been on the field since the 2019 season; however, it seems like he has been keeping track of the 2021 season free agency. Carlos, who just came fresh from the World Series, has been on the radar of top teams for their shortstop position.

Notably, New York Yankees have shown immense interest in signing Correa for their 2022 season. Moreover, it is also rumored that the Yankees are planning to offer Carlos a $300 million deal in December.
However, the former Giants player, Scooter Gennett, thinks it is not fair to give Correa such a huge deal, after his past controversy with Houston Astros. In fact, he had plenty to say, not only about Correa and his rumored million-dollar deal but also about the whole baseball system.
Scooter tweeted, “@mlb about to let a cheater who shouldn’t be playing baseball get a 300 million dollar contract. The big leagues is broken. And people wonder why I’d rather be at home then in a big league stadium. If he had a soul he’d give all 300 million to all the players careers he ruined.”

New York Yankees don’t care about Carlos Correa’s past scandals
Unlike Scooter, Yankees seem unbothered by Correa’s infamous history. In fact, Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone even discarded the rumors around Correa’s 2017 World Series controversy hampering their potential relationship.
Even New York Yankees owner, Hal Steinbrenner, came forward, making their stand clear on the situation. Hal said, “He’s obviously a great talent. And, look, I think, hopefully, most people have moved on from that. I mean, I think it’s only healthy to move on from things like that instead of stewing on it year after year.”
It is indeed healthy to move on from the past, especially since Correa has proved himself as one of the top players in the league. Notably, Carlos even clinched the Platinum Gold Glove in 2021. Regardless, Scooter isn’t a fan of the Carlos, clearly.
