Chrissy Teigen has hit back at critics who mocked her for getting eyebrow transplants.

The model, 35, recently shared with her 36 million Instagram followers that she had undergone surgery on her eyebrows to replace the hair follicles after plucking them out when she was younger.

She had warned others – particularly teenagers – not to over-pluck their ‘brows after undergoing the procedure, which involves taking hair from the back of the patient’s head and placing it on the face.

Chrissy had happily shared photographs of the difference in her eyebrows post-surgery, but was met with a barrage of criticism, including being called, among other things, ‘out of touch with reality’.

While some were happy for the TV host, and many others didn’t really care either way, a number of people slammed the star for showing off her cosmetic surgery while ‘the world is going to hell in a hand basket’.

Chrissy, however, has stood up for herself.

She took to Instagram stories where she shared a screengrab of some of the cruel messages people had written on Twitter, and wrote: ‘WHY are people so f***ing riled up over any little thing I do?

She added: ‘You’re gonna give yourselves a heart attack.’

Chrissy has always been open about cosmetic procedures, and recently went under the knife for a buccal fat removal in her cheeks, performed by her regular surgeon Dr Jason Diamond.

And, last year, the Lip Sync Battle host, who is married to singer John Legend, underwent surgery to have her breast implants removed after getting a boob job 14 years earlier at the age of 20.

Following Chrissy’s eyebrow transplants, Dr Diamond took to his own Instagram page, reposting a snap of the mum-of-two, and explained why some may be tempted to undergo the surgery.

He wrote: ‘Eyebrows play a huge part of the facial aesthetic.

‘They frame the eyes and can either be an asset to the eyes, or they can be the annoying part of your morning you have to spend ten minutes filling in.

‘I know too many people, entire generations, who either overplucked brows as part of the trend or are simply experiencing eyebrow thinning with time.

He added: ‘#EyebrowTransplantation is a procedure where we mutually agree on shape, density, etc., and skill takes it from there.’
