Genius trick I’m A Celebrity campmates do to stop ITV showing private conversations

THERE is a genius trick that I’m A Celebrity campmates do to stop ITV showing their private conversations.

Shane Ritchie, 57 – who starred in the 20th series of the popular programme in 2020 – shared the clever idea with the rest of the gang last year.

Being filmed 24 hours a day for the show means that there will definitely be a number of chats that the campers want to keep between themselves.

Shane’s former campmate Victoria Derbyshire revealed what they have to do.

Victoria recently explained in piece for The Mirror: “If we ever wanted to talk about something privately that we didn’t want to appear on television, Shane told us to sing a famous song in the middle of it because ITV wouldn’t want to pay for the rights to the track, so wouldn’t include it on the show.”

The famous faces aren’t allowed to sing any songs by artists such as The Beatles, Queen or anything from Disney.

Runner-up of I’m A Celebrity 2020 Jordan North previously explained that the Britain’s main commercial channel would have “to get the rights for it” if they wanted to air the tunes on our screens.

Speaking to DJ Greg James on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, the northern lad confessed: “So if we were having a conversation that we didn’t want to go on air, we’d have a conversation and we’d get someone in the background to sing ‘I Want To Break Free’.

“So I’d be there with Shane Richie going, ‘Is he really like that? I’ve always loved him on the telly’.

“Shane’s saying, ‘Can’t stand him mate, he is nothing like you see…’

“Then you’ve got Vernon in the background going, ‘Hey Jude, don’t let me down’. Then we’d know it wouldn’t go on air!”

Tonight the fourth episode of the 21st series will grace our screens.

This year’s season has certainly been eventful after music producer Naughty Boy threatened to quit the show last night.

The rapper, Richard Madeley, Arlene Phillips, David Ginola and Danny Miller are over in The Clink, while the rest of the other stars are in Main Camp.

The tough conditions are proving too much for Naughty Boy, and after he found out that the others chose him to go up against Snoochie Shy in the trial.

He broke down and said he was “done”, and even Arlene said that she wanted to leave too.

Many fans have compared him to Towie favourite Gemma Collins, who quit the show after just 72 hours.
