I’m A Celebrity 2021: ‘Bulletproof detection cameras installed’ after fan managed to sneak onto set

Security has been ramped up on I’m A Celebrity (Picture: Rex)

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! bosses are said to have installed a ‘deafening’ security system to prevent intruders from breaking into Gwrych Castle in North Wales.

After a fan filmed herself driving through several checkpoints to get onto the set, the ITV competition show has ramped up its protocols to prevent a similar scenario from happening again.

According to reports, the show has now installed a leading piece of security kit named ‘The Amardillo’, which has 360° viewing angle and vocal warning system to stop trespassers or thieves breaking and entering.

The equipment is considered one of the top crime deterrents in the country.

‘It looks like something out of Doctor Who, but if you came face to face with it you’d crap your pants,’ an insider claimed.

‘It can emit a deafening alarm 16 times as loud as a car starting. It would cause anyone close to it some serious discomfort.’

The source added to The Sun: ‘ITV bosses are confident that even just the presence of the Armadillo, let alone the other layers of security, should be enough to keep Ant and Dec and everyone else safe.’

The move comes after Emma Louise, 39, and her partner Andrew, 36, accidentally drove through the first security checkpoint, without being asked to show any ID or passes.

Having made it past five more checkpoints, the couple got out of their vehicle and had a little walk around, capturing several members of the crew in her video footage.

In the video, Emma expressed how shocked she was when Andrew managed to drive through the checkpoints, with security ‘just waving to us and stuff’.

Cackling, the mum said: ‘We’re literally driving into the castle. I just don’t know how this has happened. Andrew’s just completely blagged it. No one’s asked us what we’re doing, they just keep waving us in.’

I’m A Celebrity 2021 officially got underway on Sunday, with the first 10 contestants split into two groups.
