“Sounds Like ‘Loma’” – Teofimo Lopez Hits Back at Josh Taylor’s Comments

The face of the lightweight division, Teofimo Lopez, will finally storm back into the ring after a year. He will square off with George Kambosos Jr. this weekend for his 135-pound title defense. This fight was in contention for a long time, but constant rescheduling took the steam off this contest. However, this fight is finally on track now, and fans are eager to see what happens on Saturday night.

The lightweight star, Lopez, has been involved in a lot of media interactions since its fight week. That said, he recently went after his rival, and the undisputed super-lightweight champ, Josh Taylor.

After ‘The Tartan Tornado’ revealed some comments on ‘The Takeover’ and his father, Lopez Sr, Lopez responded, “Sounds like ‘Loma’. At the end of the day, Josh Taylor can say whatever he wants to say.”

Over the past few months, Lopez and Taylor have gone after each other enough. The lightweight stalwart has remained assertive about getting his hands on the Scottish boxer, but Taylor hasn’t shown much interest in locking horns with Lopez.

‘The Tartan Tornado’ became the undisputed super-lightweight champ earlier this year; Lopez seems on the brink of moving up in a weight class. That said, Lopez has his vision set on the ultimate champ of the 140-pound division. Should he beat ‘Ferocious’ on Saturday, he will be in pole position to challenge Taylor for the undisputed super-lightweight titles.

Teofimo Lopez vs Josh Taylor – Will this fight happen by mid-2022?

For now, both Teofimo Lopez and Josh Taylor have their fights aligned. That said, a fight between the two is impossible in the first half of 2022 because Taylor’s fight is in February 2022.

Citing that, both the fighters and their teams will have to get in touch to stage a fight by mid-2022. Also, the probability of this fight depends on the outcome of Lopez and Taylor’s upcoming fights.
