Grammy-nominated country singer Jimmie Allen shared the horrific news his five-week-old daughter Zara was rushed to hospital earlier this week after she stopped breathing.
In a series of statements, the Dancing With The Stars contestant also blamed ‘lazy’ doctors for not taking Zara’s condition seriously enough when they sent the family away.
Jimmie first wrote on Wednesday: ‘Attention Doctors , if the parent of your one month old patient tells you the child having a hard time breathing and the only thing your lazy self wants to do is check heart heart and temperature find another career. Your job is to save lives so do it. [sic]’
Updating fans afterwards, the star – who was nominated in the best new artist category at the Grammys this week – revealed they had rushed Zara to another hospital where she was being seen to, as his wife Alexis, who also shares daughter Naomi, one, with Jimmie, who has a son Aadyn, seven, from a previous relationship, shared an update along with a photo of little Zara hooked up to machines.
Jimmie wrote: ‘Now thanks to the lazy doctors at a hospital in TN that just sent our daughter home, our daughter Zara lost color stopped breathing and is being rushed to another hospital. [sic]’
He went on to praise the ‘amazing EMT team that brought back Zara’s colour’ but conceded it was ‘gonna be a rough night’.
Alexis, a nurse herself, similarly slammed the care she claims her daughter was denied by doctors, writing on her social media: ‘Turned away by hospital yesterday AM Ambulance at 2 a.m. Basically if your child isn’t blue at the lips they will not have answers for you. That’s been my last 24 hours.
‘Not one doctor has taken the time to actually listen and make sure she’s really OK -10 min in and outs.
‘What this nurse mama is seeing/hearing is so frightening. [sic]’

Later on, she shared an update to her Stories, with an image of Zara in a hospital crib holding onto her mum’s finger: ‘The hardest days of my life. She is stable but still needing oxygen and suctioning frequently.
‘Will give you an update once Z is healthy and heading home with us. Thank you so much for all of your kind words and prayers it truly means the world to our family.’
