Holly Willoughby was close to tears on This Morning as she, Phillip Schofield and Alison Hammond surprised a young boy, who has been unwell, with a trip to Legoland.

Brave Elliott, nine, began donating his Christmas presents to sick children several years ago as he said they needed them more than he did before a cruel twist of fate saw him diagnosed with a brain tumour himself last year.

In spite of this, Elliott continued donating his Christmas presents, and his selflessness was noticed last year when he appeared on This Morning with his mum, who told his story.

Now Elliott is in remission, and the crew at the ITV show decided to reward the boy for his bravery with an incredible surprise.

Elliott’s mum Samantha told her son he had to go into hospital for some routine tests, but instead, they arrived at a hotel, where Alison was waiting for them with a microphone and cameras.

Alison then broke the news to Elliott that he was not going into hospital at all, and that he was going all the way to Windsor for a trip to Legoland – and he would have the entire place to himself.

A montage of Elliott’s fantastic day out showed him on all the rides and even learning to drive a Lego car, with Alison and his mum watching on proudly.

To top it all off, Elliott got to switch on the Christmas lights at the theme park, including a massive Lego tree, all while being cheered on by a choir of elves.

Back in the studio, Phil and Holly – who was visibly holding back tears – then interviewed the mother and son about their big day out.

Elliott’s favourite part of the day was driving the Lego car, he said, while mum Samantha broke the happy news that her son was doing really well and was back at school with his friends.

Holly wasn’t the only one feeling emotional after the segment, with viewers flocking to social media to praise Elliott’s bravery and wish him the best for the future.

Aww bless him, what a sweet boy, he truly deserves his Christmas miracle surprise. Glad he’s on the mend #ThisMorning
