Richard Madeley has revealed he has quit I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, but viewers will get to see his final appearance on Thursday’s show.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 65, was forced to pull out of the rest of the series after falling ill in the early hours of Thursday morning and being taken to hospital.
As he had broken the ‘Covid bubble’ he and the other campmates were in by going to hospital, Richard revealed that he was no longer able to return to be with the others.
While he will no longer be filming new scenes for the show, he will appear in Thursday’s episode as it was pre-recorded on Wednesday night.
At the end of Wednesday’s show, the campmates were told they would all be taking part in the next trial, and it was revealed Adam Woodyatt and Simon Gregson would also be joining.
After completing the trial, Richard fell ill overnight and was taken to hospital just before 6am on Thursday morning.
He told his followers: ‘Hello all! Richard here – firstly just to say that I’m absolutely FINE. I started to feel briefly unwell in the small hours of the morning and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
‘By leaving the camp, I had consequently broken the Covid ‘bubble’ and as such I’ve had to leave the castle and all the wonderful celebs that remain in the camp.
‘Obviously I’m gutted to be leaving so soon but the safety of all the campmates is the number one priority.

‘I’m incredibly excited to watch their journey continue…even more so at the prospect of being somewhere a little warmer than Gwrych Castle.
‘Thank you to everyone who supported me on my brief but completely unforgettable adventure – I’ve made some great friends and honestly had the time of my life. Speak soon, Richard x.’
