Kevin Durant on Fans Criticizing His Tweets: ‘I Am Not a Role Model’

The internet is famous for its bizarre observations, especially with the NBA. From LeBron James’ clone to spectators puking on the court, this season so far has been as insane as it gets. Recently, Kevin Durant’s legs became the center of social media’s attention. And Kevin Durant clearly did not appreciate that.

When a picture of his legs went viral, Durant lashed back at the internet. And sometimes the internet does not appreciate a player standing up for himself. So obviously he received a lot of hate for being too honest in his response. Some even said that his language was sarcastically “classy” for his young fans. It is then that he decided that he does not care about what his young fans think of him.

Arguably the most prolific scorer of all time, Durant knows his value to the league and his team. Therefore, him acknowledging his own drawbacks is a sign of true modesty. He realizes that there are things about him that a child should not emulate. However, that does not stop him from being himself.

What does this mean for Durant and his fans?

Kevin Durant received a lot of support from his fans in the comments section of this tweet. Most fans felt that parents put an unrealistic amount of pressure on the world to become a role model for their children. While that opinion might be controversial, it has some rational to support it. For Kevin, this means that fans are again divided on his opinions. And for his fans, yet another brutally honest take from their beloved superstar.
