Lewis Hamilton Takes to Simulator To Prepare for the Inaugural Saudi Arabia GP
Formula One will have a race in Saudi Arabia for the time in its history. Jeddah is being touted as the fastest street circuit in F1 and the one with the most corners. 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton took to social media to give a glimpse of his preparation for the race. As this is the first time F1 will race in Jeddah, drivers have taken to the simulator to prepare for the track.
Hamilton, who does not do much simulator work. was seen learning the track on the sim. “ Work,” wrote the Mercedes on his Instagram Story.

Lewis Hamilton ready to race in Jeddah with his Brazil engine
As reported by Motorsport.com, Hamilton blitzed the field at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix after taking a new engine. He was almost 30k/h faster than everyone on the track. The Mercedes driver will use that engine at the Jeddah circuit as it comprises fast straights and long corners which will favor the car.
“We’ve seen pretty big swings of performance over the recent races, [but] if we look at the track in Saudi, I think it should suit us. For Lewis, we have got the more powerful engine to go in the car, so that’s going to give him a useful engine,” said Andrew Shovlin.

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff was also confident that the track will suit their car. He also mentioned that the ‘spicy’ Brazil engine will give them an advantage.
“In Saudi, it should be a good track for us, but we know this year, when we think it is a good one, it can turn the other way around. But it is long straights and we will get our spicy equipment out, the engine, for Saudi Arabia,” said Wolff.
With just two races remaining in the 2021 season, Lewis needs every advantage he can get. He is still 8 points behind Max Verstappen in the championship, who will look to bounce back after two straight losses.
