Mean Girls star Lacey Chabert announces death of sister: ‘Our hearts are shattered’

Mean Girls star Lacey Chabert has made the tragic announcement that her sister Wendy has died.
The actor, best known for her role as Gretchen Wieners in the teen comedy, took to Instagram where she revealed the news of her sister’s ‘shocking loss’.
Writing that their family’s ‘hearts are shattered into a million pieces’, Lacey paid tribute to her older sister in a heart-wrenching post.
‘We love and adore you more than we can ever say and we will continue to forever and ever and ever’, Lacey wrote.
‘The shocking loss has left us so broken hearted.’
Lacey said their lives ‘will never be the same without my dear sister, but we cling to the promise of Jesus that we will be together again in eternity.’
The actor asked her friends and followers to keep Wendy’s family, ‘especially her two boys, in your hearts and prayers.’
Lacey’s moving message to her sister was accompanied by a gorgeous throwback photo of Wendy, taken in 1994, the young woman smiling widely for the camera.
The announcement of the devastating loss has brought an outpouring of love from Lacey’s friends, fans and followers, including fellow actors and former co-stars.

Tamera Mowry, of Sister Sister fame, wrote that she was ‘so so sorry’ to hear the news.
‘Praying for you, Wendy’s family and your family,’ she added.
Tamera’s younger brother Tahj, who earned his fame on the Disney Channel in his own right, also sent his condolences and prayed for God to ‘send his healing power to you and your family’.
American TV presenter Debbie Matenopoulos, who in 2020 co-hosted Hallmark’s Home & Family show with Lacey, wrote: ‘I am so so sorry Lacey.
‘Sending you and your family my deepest condolences and you are all in my thoughts [and] prayers.’
Comedian Wendi Mclendon-Covey of The Goldbergs, wrote that she was ‘so sorry’, while Mean Girls co-star Danny Franzese, actor Will Kemp, and Full House’s Candace Cameron Bure and Marla Sokoloff also sent their condolences.
Lacey also has one other older sister, Chrissy.

Just weeks ago, for National Sisters Day, Lacey took to Instagram to share a childhood throwback of her and her two sisters, writing about ‘how much I love them’.
‘They are the best big sisters ever and I thank God for them every day.’
