On the court, Shaquille O’Neal perhaps had nothing to regret. He was an unassailable Lakers legend in his own right, and a behemoth of the NBA. For close to twenty years, he stamped his authority, winning four league trophies in the process. Yet, off the court, Shaq has undergone multiple personal struggles. Apart from his wife, the 49-year-old has been linked with various women in the past. But there is one among these relationships in particular, that the starlet has openly admitted to regretting.

Way back in 1992, the eventual 15-time All-star was rumored to be dating Arnetta Yardbourgh. The pair were reportedly well acquainted since their high school days, and there was a romance brewing. Although not much is officially known about their relationship, they had a child together, named Taahirah. Over a year after his split, Shaq met Shaunie, the woman who he would ultimately get married to. Tying the knot in 2002, the couple gave birth to four children, in addition to two that they were already parenting.

After some separating and reconciling, Shaquille and Shaunie officially filed for divorce in 2010. Before his separation was finalized, O’Neal apparently dated ‘Flavor of Love’ star Nicole Alexander. This happened in 2010, when the duo were single. After a couple of years together, during which Nicole even won another show, they split up due to personal differences. Apart from this, Shaq has made the headlines for some flings, none of which have been concrete.

Shaq expressed his regret over his dating life

As multiple reports suggest, the powerhouse center-forward was involved in numerous raunchy affairs. Some of the names that have come up, include model Laticia Rolle and ‘Basketball Wives LA’ star Laura Govan. Despite denying any involvement, the pair were seen together while Shaq was still seeing Shaunie O’Neal. Currently, little is known of the veteran’s love life. However, he has expressed his regrets regarding his personal life in his book.

In the memoir ‘Shaq Uncut: My Story’, O’Neal reveals the mistakes he made off the court. “I admit it, I was a guy,” he writes. “I was a guy with too many options. Choosing to be with some of those women, well, that’s on me. In my mind, I never did it disrespectfully, but obviously I shouldn’t have done it all.” Thus, he will probably take back some of the unfortunate moments from his past love life.
