ITV bosses have confirmed that Friday’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here live show will be scrapped in favour of a pre-recorded episode due to a storm nearing the camp.
The news was confirmed by bosses in a statement reading: ‘Tonight’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be broadcast as a pre-recorded show rather than live due to the developing Storm Arwen and precautionary measures we’re putting into place on production.
‘Ant & Dec will record their links early evening and these will be played out during tonight’s show.
‘Our celebrities will remain inside the castle which is secure and we have contingencies in place to cover all weather scenarios to ensure the safety of our cast and crew.’
It’s the first time a live episode has had to be scrapped in the series’ history, and comes in a rocky week for the show with campmate Richard Madeley leaving the series and fears other stars such as Naughty Boy may also walk out.
There is currently a red weather warning from The Met Office regarding Storm Arwen, with wind speeds of between 80 and 90mph forecast to hit north east Scotland and north east England.

The red alert, which is the highest level of alert, is in place from 3pm on Friday until 2am on Saturday.
The news comes after the camp lost one member as broadcaster Richard was forced to quit the series after being taken to hospital.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 65, had had to leave the series after falling ill in the early hours of Thursday morning as his trip to hospital meant he broke the Covid ‘bubble’ he’d been in.

He reassured fans he was doing well after the medical emergency, saying he’d been taken in as a ‘precaution’.
Earlier in the week, Naughty Boy and Dame Arlene Phillips had also threatened to walk out after struggling in the basic camp, but later changed their minds.
