Richard Madeley is set to return to Good Morning Britain on Monday, following his early exit from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
The 65-year-old was taken to hospital yesterday after falling ill following a Bushtucker Trial, and later announced his departure from the ITV series.
Discussing his shock exit on today’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, Ben Shephard appeared to confirm that he will be on the show next week to speak of life in Gwrych Castle.
‘Apparently we’re going to be speaking to Richard on Monday,’ he said. ‘We’ll be able to communicate with the man…’
‘We hope so,’ Charlotte interjected, as Ben continued: ‘Now we’re saying, is he ill? What’s happened? It’s gone from “we’re talking to him” to “we hope so”.
‘If we can pin Richard Madeley down, hopefully we’ll have him on the show on Monday.’

Earlier in the episode, the host also declared that his pal’s exit was ‘a mistake’ – as he left just four days into the competition.
’It was short and sweet,’ he continued. ‘It’s such a shame because Richard was the person who was trying to persuade the others not to leave and all of a sudden, he’s gone.
‘It sounds like it was a bit of a Covid-19 protocol issue, he broke the bubble to go to hospital and then couldn’t go back in.
‘I feel like someone’s made a bit of a mistake there,’ he added. ‘It’s such a shame though because he’s already been such an integral part of the show.’

Richard confirmed his departure from the I’m A Celeb camp on Thursday, shortly after the ITV series began.
After reports emerged of his hospital visit, the TV presenter explained that he will not be returning to the castle.
‘Hello all! Richard here – firstly just to say that I’m absolutely FINE,’ he began the lengthy post. ‘I started to feel briefly unwell in the small hours of the morning and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
‘By leaving the camp, I had consequently broken the Covid ‘bubble’ and as such I’ve had to leave the castle and all the wonderful celebs that remain in the camp.
‘Obviously I’m gutted to be leaving so soon but the safety of all the campmates is the number one priority.

‘I’m incredibly excited to watch their journey continue…even more so at the prospect of being somewhere a little warmer than Gwrych Castle.’
‘Thank you to everyone who supported me on my brief but completely unforgettable adventure – I’ve made some great friends and honestly had the time of my life,’ he concluded. ‘Speak soon, Richard x.’
A statement from I’m A Celeb bosses added: ‘Our strict covid protocols means Richard has sadly had to leave the show as he is no longer in the bubble the celebrities form when entering the castle.
‘He has been a truly brilliant camp mate and we thank him for being part of this series.’
Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays at 6am on ITV.
