WE know that a lot of avid gamers out there are already searching for PS5 deals, as the Black Friday weekend unrolls.

And we also know that they’ll be hard to come by – with everyone trying to get their hands on one of the must-have consoles.

*We may earn revenue if you click the links below and buy the products but we never let this affect our recommendations. Remember, to shop around on Black Friday to make sure you’re getting the best price.

Anybody who’s been keeping an eye on the gaming world over the past year will know that the PS5 has been very, very hard to snap up, ever since its release.

The question gamers are asking is this: is the PS5 become available on Black Friday, and (better still), will it be on offer over the weekend?

To check on current levels of availability in real-time, head to our PS5 stock page.

When will Black Friday PS5 deals start?

For the console itself, we don’t think there’ll be any official kick-offs.

We’ve seen stock drops intensify gradually over the next few weeks after a dry spell throughout the summer, and no doubt they’ll go more frequent as we move into early December.

For Black Friday deals on PS5 games, SSDs and accessories, there are many already available.

We have listed the best of them in this article, and we’ll be updating it as the day unrolls, so make sure you bookmark it and keep returning.

When will Black Friday PS5 deals end?

Our guess is that retailers will unleash all their console stock in the weekend between Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

How much will a PS5 cost on Black Friday?

In the UK, the PS5 is priced at £449.99, and retailers seem to be sticking to that RRP (although Amazon is selling the all-new Nintendo Switch OLED at an inflated price).

In the US, things are a bit less predictable. We’ve seen the price for a PS5 go seriously high – for example, at Walmart it’s been going for $1,039.

But hey, that’s supply and demand for you: some avid gamers will happily pay this amount.

Is Black Friday a good time to buy a games console?

In normal times, we’d say absolutely – but with supply issues and stock shortages everywhere, these aren’t normal times.

If you’re dead set on picking up a PS5 anytime soon, our advice is this: if you see it’s available, buy it.

Granted, the likelihood of picking up stock is going to shoot up this weekend – but if you’re thinking of buying one as a Christmas gift, we say act as quickly as possible in order to avoid disappointment.

Should I buy the PS5 or an Xbox this Black Friday?

You’re probably weighing up between the PS5 and Microsoft’s leading console, the Xbox Series X.

That too is in seriously short supply right now, so if you’re not a particularly tribal gamer and you’re just after a top-class console, keep abreast of availability on our PS5 stock and Xbox Series X stock pages, and see whichever becomes available first.

But if you’re more inclined to Xbox in general, bear in mind that the Xbox Series S is still widely available.

Head to our Xbox Series S Black Friday deals page to see the best offers.

Can I play PS4 games on a PS5?

Yes: the PS5 is backwards-compatible.

So if you are among the lucky ones who bags a PS5 this Black Friday, you’ll also have your entire collection of PS4 games to play on it.

That said, Sony has reported that there are some compatibility glitches that crop up, though these are few and far between.

Should I grab a PS5 this Black Friday?

If you are able, you definitely should.

Stock drops have increased in volume in the past few weeks, but there is no certainty that’s going to remain the case after Cyber Monday.

So to avoid the potential let-down of going empty-handed this Black Friday, our advice is to purchase one as soon as you know it’s available online.

Which PS5 SSDs should I look out for this Black Friday?

There’s one key SSD that we’re particularly excited about right now, and that’s Samsung’s new 980 Pro.

This new piece of kit from the Korean tech giant was launched in October, and has a built-in heatsink, which means it keeps temperatures low, which ensures your gameplay doesn’t slow down or lag.

But in terms of SSD deals, you’ll likely find all the best price drops at Amazon and Currys.

An amazing deal is currently available for the Crucial P5 Plus 1TB hard drive, which is at its lowest price ever on Amazon.

Is the PS5 be currently in stock for Black Friday?

This is something we can’t guarantee, and we urge gamers to stay realistic in their expectations of bagging a PS5 this Black Friday.

Of course, Sony will want to ship as many consoles to as many suppliers across the globe as possible – this is the number one sales event of the year, after all.

Back in May, we even reported that Sony is redesigning the PS5, with the new version of the console being less reliant on these scarce components.

It’s not impossible that if retailers received stock in the last few months, they will release some for the Black Friday period.

Our advice is to bookmark this page and keep coming back to it, during Black Friday today and until the end of Cyber Monday – we’ll be keeping it up-to-date with all the latest PS5 deals that appear.

How much will the PS5 cost on Black Friday?

The Disk Edition of the PS5 has an RRP of £449.99, while the Digital Edition costs £359.99.

It’s sold (when in stock) by the following retailers:

Amazon – shop for PS5 hereArgos – shop for PS5 hereAO – shop for PS5 hereCurrys PC World – shop for PS5 hereLaptops Direct – shop for PS5 hereSmyths Toys – shop for PS5 hereVery – shop for PS5 here

Stock issues aside, we’re doubtful these prices will be lowered during Black Friday since the consumer appetite is high, to say the least.

If the console is to be found cheaper anywhere, it’s in bundles where one or more games are also included – scroll down to find out more about what PS5 deals are likely to be found this year.

When is Black Friday 2021?

This year, Black Friday takes place today, November 26, which is the day directly after American Thanksgiving.

The busiest shopping day of the year is, after all, a US import – it started in the States back in the 1960s, and has slowly grown in popularity in the UK over the last decade or so.

When is Cyber Monday 2021?

Cyber Monday takes place on the other side of the weekend that immediately follows Black Friday – so this year that’s November 29.

Traditionally, it was a day for online-only deals – hence the (slightly old-fashioned) name.

But online shopping has boomed in the last few years, so in reality, there’s very little difference between the deals you’ll find on Black Friday and those you’ll find on Cyber Monday.

It’s a day when retailers tend to put out the final wave of deals or reduce prices on remaining stock even further.
