Adrian Chiles has been announced as the final celebrity for Strictly Come Dancing’s 2021 Christmas Special.

The television and radio presenter was revealed as the final contestant for the Strictly Christmas special on Friday’s episode of Strictly: It Takes Two on BBC Two.

Adrian, 54, who will be partnered with professional dancer Jowita Przystal for the competition, said ‘Discouragingly, every one of my family and friends with whom I’ve shared this news, has reacted with horror.

‘They can’t believe it I’m doing it, and neither can I!’

The BBC Radio 5 Live presenter and former The One Show host jokingly offered his ‘thoughts and prayers’ to Jowita for being ‘lumbered’ with him.

Adrian told host Rylan Clark that he ‘feels like a dollop of custard’ and wondered what Jowita had done wrong ‘behind the scenes’ to be paired with him.

He added that he is actually quite a good dancer – just as long as nobody is watching .

Former Great British Bake Off host Mel Giedroyc, Moira Stuart and Anne-Marie, along with Fred Sirieix and Jay Blades, were previously confirmed to appear on the Christmas special.
