Thomas Wells has died aged 46
Former X Factor USA contestant Thomas Wells has died at the age of 46 after being involved in an accident at work.
Wells’ wife, Jessica Wells, told TMZ that the 46-year-old singer had died on November 13 after an accident at work at a tyre manufacturing plant in Oklahoma.
According to TMZ’s reports, part of Wells’s body was caught in a machine similar to an automatic conveyor belt and he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
He was then airlifted to another hospital in Texas where it was hoped specialists could treat him, but died in hospital earlier in the month.
The exact nature of his injuries is unclear.
Wells had appeared on a series of talent shows including X Factor USA, America’s Got Talent, The Voice USA and The Winner Is.
He had been musical from an early age, teaching himself how to play instruments by ear and singing in choirs at church and at school.

Wells’s wife, who was married to him for 17 years, remembered him as a ‘unique person who always had a smile on his face and tried to make people laugh.’
She added that he would ‘sometimes bust out singing and didn’t mind the spotlight.’
