Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas has shared a positive health update with her followers after feeling ‘very anxious’ over her test results, having been informed that there’s no sign of cancer on her kidneys.

Last month, Shirley, 61, revealed that she would be undergoing hospital tests after concerned viewers spotted a lump in her arm while watching the BBC programme.

The ballroom dancer has continued to update fans on her health, revealing that she received two sets of results back on Friday.

In a video shared on Instagram, the Strictly star filmed herself lying down in bed while opening up about the latest guidance she’s received from the doctor.

‘Hey everybody. I just wanted to fill you in as promised that I got two sets of results back today, and the shadow on my kidney seems absolutely fine, they’re not worried about it, and then some other little – I’m going to say polyps, there was a fancy name for them, or something – that are just absolutely fine. So there was no cancer there so that was good,’ she said.

Shirley explained that she’s going to have her breasts checked one more time, adding that she is going to start taking oestrogen to ‘balance the body better’ as her ‘hormones are still all over the place’.

‘Thank you to all of you who spotted it, who made me go and get my MOT of myself. I really appreciate it, I love you all. You’re such great, great people. I really appreciate it. Thank you.’

In her caption, Shirley wrote that she ‘can now breathe’ following the latest results.

‘Dear Fans and friends. Got two sets of results back and after feeling very anxious for several weeks I can now breath [sic],’ she wrote.

‘I want to thank each and every one of you for your caring kind and loving messages. You proved that social media can be a good place, watching out for each other is always a good thing, and I feel blessed.

‘Hopefully in a few weeks I’ll start to feel less tired and my old self again. Gratitude to you all. Thank you from my heart to yours. #health #kindness #selfcare.’
