WATCH: Steve Kerr Irritated With Fan Asking to Compare Stephen Curry and Michael Jordan

If ever there was a comeback for the ages, the Golden State Warriors have done it. After a couple of abysmal outings, Stephen Curry and co. are well and truly back. The guard has established himself as one of the greatest shooters in the league, and is carrying his team towards national supremacy. And all this, in the absence of Klay Thompson. Meanwhile, coach Steve Kerr continues to be in a state of awe over Curry, who has been paralleled with Michael Jordan numerous times now.

The Warriors weren’t built up as highly as some other franchises. To many, the side would possibly run out of gas in the clutch moments. Shockingly, GSW’s surprise element has been the support around Steph; the likes of Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole and Nemanja Bjelica have all risen to the big occasion. And Curry has just been doing what he always does. Interestingly, with the increasing comparisons, the 33-year-old is being compared to the game’s best, including Michael Jordan. However, Kerr had no interest in offering his take on the comparison.

‘Maaannn!’: Steve Kerr has no interest in Stephen Curry-Michael Jordan comparisons

After 2020-21 turned out to be his best year in terms of scoring, it is possible that Curry breaks his record again. After all, he is averaging close to 29 points thus far. Someone whom the shooting expert has looked up to over the years, is Bulls icon Jordan. The 58-year-old inspires Curry a lot, both on and off the court. In the course of his career, MJ averaged 30.1 points, and built a brand empire like none other.

An experienced campaigner himself, Steve Kerr has been there and done that in the NBA. Originating as a player, he featured alongside ‘His Airness’ with the Bulls before coaching the unbeatable Warriors setup in the mid 2010s. Recently however, the 56-year-old was left in a bit of a pickle. He was asked to choose between Jordan and Curry – two of the best players that he has been up close and personal with. Wise as ever, Kerr played it down by saying, “Maaaannn! What, are you gonna put this on Twitter?”

Steve Kerr didn’t want to debate MJ and Steph with this fan.
