“I Protect My Tribe and My Driver” – Wolff Issues a Strong Statement Ahead of Tense F1 Bout

The Brazilian Grand Prix was one of the most interesting races that we have had this season. Lewis Hamilton displayed an amazing performance at Interlagos, defeating Max Verstappen to take the chequered flag.

Apart from Hamilton’s victory at Interlagos, there are two moments from the race that will be forever remembered by the F1 community. One was team boss, Toto Wolff’s reaction; pointing to the camera. And, the other was when he sent a message to Hamilton on the team radio post the sprint race.

Wolff explains his emotions amidst the title fight with Red Bull

The Brackley-based squad is involved in an intense fight with Red Bull; both of them pushing each other to the limit. At the Brazilian Grand Prix, Wolff showcased his emotions after Hamilton defeated the Dutch driver. As Lewis was on his cool-down lap, Wolff said on the team radio, “F*** them all!”

As quoted by GPFans, the Austrian said, “I don’t feel pressure. I think I’ve felt pressure in my life at various other points that are ridiculous compared to what I had in my personal life.”

“I’m very passionate about it and I protect my tribe and my driver and when things are going against me you will see the emotions. You need to be authentic about it,” Wolff concluded.

The championship fight is going down to the wire

With just two races reaming till the end of the season, the fight for both championships is very much on. In the constructor’s fight, it is the Wolff-led team that has the lead over the squad from Milton-Keynes. But the gap between the two title contenders is just five points.

While in the driver’s championship, it is the Red Bull prodigy who has the lead over the 7-time world champion. And the gap between the arch-rivals is just eight points.
