‘Sorry I wasn’t enough’ – Ruben Dias’ stunning ex April Ivy releases emotional song about break-up with Man City ace

MANCHESTER CITY star Ruben Dias’ stunning ex-girlfriend has appeared to lay bare her feelings about the end of their relationship – and hint she wants to get back with him – in her new song.

Pretty singer April Ivy opened up following the shock end to their relationship in single ‘Broken Apologies’.

The brunette is now based in London after leaving the home she shared in Manchester with Dias.

Reports the footballer had called time on his three-year relationship with his girlfriend surfaced in September after their summer holiday together in Greece.

April, real name Mariana Goncalves, wrote on social media as she released the single on Friday: “It was the hardest song I’ve written and had to record so far.

“I wrote it in my room at the end of the summer and I waited till now when I felt prepared to go public with my feelings so openly.”

‘Broken Apologies’ opens with the words: “I tried to give you what you needed
But you didn’t see I tried.

“In my mind I can’t find a reason for you to leave us both behind.”

It continues, suggesting April is keen to get back with her ex: “So I’m sorry I gave you all my love, sorry I didn’t mess this up, sorry that I wasn’t enough for you.

“So I’m sorry I give my world for you but when you’re in love that’s what you do. I’m hoping you hear this and forgive me.”

Ivy has over 200,000 followers on Instagram

In an apparent warning to the women looking to take her place she added: “My love check your pockets ‘cos some of these girls won’t care about you at all.”

Portuguese media reported in September the couple ‘separated’ because of their lifestyle differences, with £64 million man Dias being ‘more discreet’ than ‘exuberant’ April according to weekly celeb magazine FLASH!

There has been no official comment from the Portuguese pair, who started dating at the end of 2018 and went public with their relationship on New Years Day 2019.

Stunning April, 22, moved to London ahead of the coronavirus lockdown to make her name in the music world before Dias signed for Man City from Benfica in September 2020.

The beauty had already made a name for herself in her homeland after a song she composed and performed called ‘Be Ok’ reaching the top of the national radio airplay list.

It was also the number one in national Spotify, YouTube and iTunes Charts.

She came close to being nominated Best Newcomer in the 2017 Portugal Golden Globes.

SOCIAL SELFIES

April, who began playing the guitar from the age of nine, regularly shared clips of her boyfriend on social media.

In spring last year Dias teamed up with his other half and accompanied her on guitar in a video she posted on her Instagram.

The 24-year-old student of soccer revealed soon afterwards April ribbed him about his obsession with football, telling Uefa’s website: “Many times my girlfriend turns to me and says, ‘Oh, you’re going to see another game?!

“And I always say to you in a joke ‘let me read a little more of my book.’

“There is always a new opportunity to learn, a part of the game that you can analyse, to see a goal that a team suffers, how the team failed to try to prevent it or to see how it prevented it from happening.

“From a young age, encouraged by my father, I got used to learning something in everything I see and not just seeing the game as a show but as a study material.

“I didn’t learn from just one, two or three players. I learned from 10, 20 or 30. I learned from everything I saw.”

April regularly made the top ten of Europe’s most glamorous WAGs alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo’s stunning partner Georgina Rodriguez.

FLASH! claimed in a report widely echoed by other Portuguese media earlier this year: “The now ex-couple shared a house in Manchester where the singer had moved to be near to Ruben and at the same time try to progress her career in London.

“We have learnt that their lifestyles, with the footballer being more discreet and contrasting with the more exuberant side of the singer, ended up driving them apart.

“The split occurred some weeks ago, after the summer holidays the pair spent together in Greece at the start of July.”
