‘The Fibula is Fully Healed’- Conor McGregor Announces Recovery News for Fans

Conor McGregor took to Twitter and expanded on his infamous ‘AskNotorious’ series of Q&A that he often uses to engage with fans. In the recent session, he shared his candid views on many fighters, including Colby Covington and Michael Chandler. Additionally, McGregor was asked to provide an injury update on the horrendous leg break he suffered at UFC 264.

McGregor suffered clean breaks to his tibia and fibula when he clashed against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight. McGregor threw a kick that was seemingly blocked against Poirier’s guard and the break occurred shortly thereafter. The incident was extremely shocking, especially since Chris Weidman similarly broke his leg a few months prior.

Conor McGregor injury update

The Irishman was asked to provide fans with an update of his injury and he was extremely prompt to answer. He revealed that his tibia was healing well, while his fibula still needed some time to heal up properly. Furthermore, he mentioned how it’s imperative to stay patient during the process of healing an injury that is a massive setback.

The fibula is fully healed. The medial side of the tibia is developing nice callous also. It is just patience now for it to form down through the bone to the lateral side of the tibia where the larger break occurred. It’s getting there. Patience will win this race for me! https://t.co/V1KPYGuEPE

Despite his harrowing injury, Conor McGregor has begun working out, in a somewhat diminished capacity. ‘Notorious’ frequently posts videos of him working out and looking to get back into fighting shape as soon as possible. Despite being on the sidelines currently, there is a lot of demand to see Conor McGregor make a massive return to the UFC.

Several notable fighters have come out and challenged McGregor when he finally decides to come back. One such call-out included Michael Chandler who made his intentions clear on Twitter. In turn, McGregor responded to ‘Iron’ Mike and seemed open to fighting him. Given their styles, this is a dynamic fight that would excite most fans in the MMA community.

One thing is for sure, Conor McGregor’s return is going to be chalked full of excitement once it is finally announced. The Irishman brings in plenty of pomp and festivities every time he fights and the box-office numbers reflect that. However, it’s imperative he makes a comeback only after he has successfully recovered from his potential career-ending injury.
