Adam Driver has very particular use for one of his Star Wars props as he admits to collecting ‘all sorts of stuff’ from movies

Adam Driver has revealed he is definitely one for taking props and costumes from sets of the movies he’s worked on as mementos – and of course he has a lightsaber.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1’s Ali Plumb, he shared: ‘I have lots of stuff. I for sure have a helmet – I have two helmets actually, a lightsaber, I have stuff from The Dead Don’t Die. Every movie I try to take [something].’

Joking about a specific purpose for one of his props, he added: ‘I wear my helmets when I drive, just to confuse people.’

We can imagine that causing quite the double-take for drivers and pedestrians alike, if true.

From his new film with Lady Gaga, House of Gucci, the Oscar nominee also admitted to being tempted by the designer threads but then having second thoughts afterwards.

‘[I took] Gucci shoes, I didn’t take a belt.’

He added: ‘I thought I could pull them off and then when you get back to reality, you’re like, ‘Oh I’m not wearing these.’’

The 38-year-old was open with having collected ‘all sorts of stuff’ over the years.

‘I take a lot of pictures too,’ he said. ‘Sometimes I take things that are on the set, like I have a bunch of stuff from AnnetteThe Last Duel. I have my machete from The Dead Don’t Die that I killed zombies with. I take all sorts of stuff.’

‘Then I keep them in a room and I just pray to myself as an homage to all the things that I’ve done,’ he laughed.

Although it sounds like he has a collection that would make most film fans weep, Driver has previously shared that he will not be rushing back to ‘scary’ Comic Con.

He told The Graham Norton Show: ‘I didn’t like it. I didn’t know the rules. I couldn’t go out for a coffee without a mask in case I was recognised, and when I opened my window there was a band playing the Star Wars theme on repeat.

‘It was scary. And there are 2,000 people who are very devoted – there is a lot of energy.

‘I saw what it was, and I am not anxious to go again.’
