BioShock 4 leak claims new game is called BioShock Isolation and set in new city

Is BioShock 4 a tale of two cities? (pic: 2K)

The first real details about the new BioShock appear to have leaked, describing twin cities set above and below ground.

It’s now eight years since BioShock Infinite was released and while that’s nothing compared to the likes of Half-Life 2, it is very surprising that nothing official has ever been said abut a new game, even though it is known to be in development.

The last time BioShock 4 was mentioned was in the Nvidia mega leak, which has so far proven entirely accurate, and a few job listings which describe it as an open world role-playing game and imply it is set in a new location not previously seen in the series.

Now, a purported leak suggests that the new game is called BioShock Isolation and that it revolves around two cities fighting a ‘vertical war’, with one above ground and one below.

– Set in a new-to-franchise isolated dystopian city
– Unreal Engine 5
– Developed by Irrational Games veterans and people who worked on Watch Dogs: Legion, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Mafia 3, Deus Ex: MD

That’s a pretty familiar concept from classic science fiction, with the leak claiming that the city above ground is free and wealthy, and lead by a successful entrepreneur, while the one below is led by a dictator.

That’s the only information on the game itself though, with Twitter account Oops Leaks stating that the game is being developed by veterans of the previous titles, as well as people that worked on Watch Dogs: Legion, Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, Mafia 3, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

The leak also claims that the game will use Unreal Engine 5 and will be revealed early next year, so not at The Game Awards next month.

It all sounds very believable, but the problem is the two assets that were leaked would be very easy to fake, since there’s no screenshots or detailed information.

It is well about time the new game was officially revealed though, so if this does turn out to be a fake that means that a Games Awards reveal is back on the cards.

There might be two cities with radically different ideology, one of them located underground right below the other, both sharing a “flipside” border zone with an unleashed “vertical war”. pic.twitter.com/Cy6fddJmV1
