‘Let Me Live!’: Anthony Joshua Enraged Over This Question

It’s been a hard time for former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, who recently lost his titles to Oleksandr Usyk in a massive upset on September 25. Since then, Joshua has been reportedly hunting down a new trainer as we can expect an immediate re-match to take place in early 2022. However, he doesn’t seem to have found or announced any developments officially.

Meanwhile, the boxing family has mercilessly scrutinized his performance against Usk in London. And has constantly demanded to know how the re-match can be different from what we saw in the first fight. It seems to have frustrated Joshua to a certain extent. He expressed that in the latest interview with IFL TV.

When asked again about his training updates, Anthony Joshua said, “I train with whoever, Jonathan Banks. I spoke to him about training. Why everyone is on my (foot)? Whether it’s about my weight? Let me live, let me live, let me live.”

The existing heavyweight division is going through a pretty complicated scenario than what we had expected it to be a few months back. A potential unification fight between WBC champion Tyson Fury and former titlist Joshua is no longer relevant. Meanwhile, Usyk is also aligned to rematch Joshua, ending all hopes for a title unification anytime soon. In such a state, Joshua shall regain his straps, and only then he can craft the tide of the division at will.

Can Anthony Joshua rebound from this stage?

Relying on his resurrection against Andy Ruiz Jr. from 2019, Joshua shouldn’t sleep on Oleksandr Usyk, especially after suffering a lopsided beat down in his hometown of London. Usyk is a technical southpaw and has been undefeated as a professional pugilist. He manhandled Joshua in the first fight and seems to have found flaws in the Briton’s game. Thus it’s up to AJ, what different he can offer this time.

Once the undefeated heavyweight kingpin, Anthony Joshua has contracted 2 losses in less than 2 years. He can not afford to lose for the second time in a row. Or else he will be thrown out of the top-tier debate. And that can urge him to hang up the gloves. Nevertheless, AJ has been in the division for a long time and has all the tools at his disposal to rebound. It clearly validates his spot among the best and offers him a right chance to beat Usyk.
