This Morning viewers were told not to worry by Holly Willoughby on Monday, after Phillip Schofield addressed his ‘croaky voice’ – and revealed he had tested positive for laryngitis.

The presenter told fans he was suffering with the illness, caused by an inflammation of the voice box, but that he was ‘fine’ and had tested negative for coronavirus.

Stepping out in the new Christmas set on This Morning today, Holly assured viewers that her co-star was ok.

‘Don’t panic, we haven’t changed his voice to protect his identity,’ she said at the beginning of the programme.

Phillip laughed and mouthed the words ‘I’m fine’, before saying: ‘I have been fully tested. I feel amazingly good, but I have a touch of laryngitis.’

Holly asked: ‘So you’re just gonna sound kind of sexy actually? Sounds quite good doesn’t it!’

Phillip added: ‘I just sound a little croaky today,’ putting on a deeper voice before saying: ‘Anyway I feel fine, I’m just a bit croaky.’

Thankfully, the presenter was able to carry on and host the show as usual.

He introduced the new Christmas tree filled This Morning studio on Monday, with the show’s producers installing 22 new trees on the programme.

There was also a moving polar bear, which shocked the pair as they saw it for the first time.

Meanwhile, the show also saw Phil and Holly inform viewers that I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! has been cancelled again on Monday as bosses repair huge damage caused by Storm Arwen.
