The stars of Harry Potter are reuniting 20 years after filming Philosopher’s Stone together – and it’s finally been announced that fans in the UK will be able to watch along.
While it was originally announced as an HBO special, Sky and NOW will be airing Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts on New Year’s Day.
Director Chris Columbus will reunite with the cast, including Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) to look back on the past 20 years.
JK Rowling won’t make a personal appearance but will appear in some archival footage.
Meanwhile, Sky and NOW will also air Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses, which is described as ‘a special four-part event hosted by Helen Mirren that will showcase ultimate fan glory on a never-before-seen scale’.
Airing on December 29, it will feature hundreds of trivia questions and special guest surprises, and fans can compete to take home the title of House Cup champion.

As if that wasn’t enough for the die-hard Potter fans, on December 19, a Wizarding World 20th Anniversary pop-up channel will also go live, which will feature the full Harry Potter collection as well as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Commenting on the news Zai Bennett, Sky MD of Content UK & Ireland said: ’20 years ago we welcomed a little bit of cinema magic into the world as Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone had its big screen debut. It’s a franchise like no other, enchanting generations of children and adults alike.

‘We’re marking the occasion by adding every film in the Wizarding World film series to our cinema line-up this festive season and we’re thrilled to be the exclusive home of the next piece of Hogwarts history, with Hogwarts Tournament of Houses and the Return to Hogwarts, sure to keep Potter fans across the country spellbound.’
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone turned 20 last month. Since the first film aired, Daniel has gone on to star in countless films, while Emma completed a degree and has starred in many high-profile flicks.
