“Legacy in Fashion”: Elina Svitolina Pays Tribute to Louis Vuitton Designer Virgil Abloh
In the women’s game, Elina Svitolina has been a prominent force. The manner in which she has made headlines both on and off the court is phenomenal.
The former World No. 3 spoke on the recent passing away of Virgil Abloh. The American left the world at the young age of 41. He was the famous creative director of the luxury brand Louis Vuitton. He was also the CEO of the Milan-based label Off-White, a fashion house he founded in 2012.
Elina Svitolina reflects on the sad demise
The 25-year-old tennis player, Elina Svitolina reflected on the passing away of the extraordinary individual and stated, “Rest in Peace to a true creative genius, visionary, and icon. His legacy in fashion will forever be limitless. He will always have a special place in my heart.”
Coming to tennis, Elina began the season in the Australian Open and got as far as the fourth round. After that, she competed at the French Open but suffered an early exit by losing in the third round.
Thereafter, she came to London at the Wimbledon Championships, but could not make it to the second week, losing in the second round. She summed up the season with her best performance at the US Open by reaching the quarterfinals.
However, there were some positives for the player to take back from this season. She won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics singles category.

In other news outside the tennis courts, Svitolina got married to her boyfriend and French tennis player Gael Monfils. The couple has been together for some time and for them to get married was one of the highlights of this season. Since the season is over, we wish her all the best in her preparations for the upcoming 2022 season.
