Footage has emerged claiming to be of people brawling outside a cinema in Mexico as they line up for tickets to the latest Spider-Man instalment, No Way Home.

The Tom Holland Marvel flick has got a lot of people excited to get back into the cinema, however according to local press, some have taken their want for tickets to violent levels.

In a video posted to social media by Spanish newspaper Diario de Morelos as well, which has been viewed more than 1.5million times so far, several young people are shown throwing punches.

While the circumstances around the brawl remain unclear, local newspaper SDP Noticias reported someone had allegedly cut into the line forming outside a Cinepolis in Cuernavaca square, where people were gathering for the pre-sale of the film which will be released on screens on December 15.

At one point in the clip, one man was seen stomping on the head of a man who was on the ground.

Others in line were seen watching on, before the men were separated and walked away from the scene. One man, who had been on the ground, was holding his arm as he stumbled off.

According to Diario de Morelos, someone was heard saying: ‘The movie is going to be there all week.’

Baffled social media punters reacted to the clip with many sharing the fact the film will be in cinemas for enough time, while others suggested this sort of behaviour went against everything Spider-Man stood for.

The upcoming film will see Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man deal with the fallout of Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) publicly announcing his identity at the end of the second chapter.

No longer able to mask up, he asks for help from Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) – but things only get more dangerous from then on out.

Jamie Foxx, who played Electro from Andrew’s tenure, will also return; Benedict Cumberbatch will appear as Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and the iconic Green Goblin will also appear, rumoured though unconfirmed to be played by Willem Dafoe.

However, while the Spider-Man series is known as the most light-hearted of the Marvel universe, Tom has recently warned that this won’t be the case this time around.

More: Spider-man

In a recent interview, the actor admitted this particular film is ‘dark’ and ‘sad.’

He added ‘people will be really surprised’ but ‘it’s not fun, this film’.

‘You’re going to see characters that you love go through things that you would never wish for them to go through. And I was just really excited to kind of lean into that side of Peter Parker.’
