Take Two Angers Fans With Aggressive Actions Towards Trademark Infringements

Take-Two Interactive is back in the news for a trademark dispute and fans are fuming about it. For the past few months, Take-Two Interactive has been the talk of the town for trying to take down the modders community. But now, the parent company of the Rockstar Games is issuing trademark claims even more liberally. They’re targeting anyone who uses words or logos that are similar to any property of Take-Two Interactive. This news has shaken the entire gaming community and fans are absolutely not happy about it.

Take-Two are truly a very miserable company for going after Hazelight Games over them using a name “It Takes Two” for a bloody game. Get a grip for goodness sake.

Take-Two Interactive filed a trademark appeal against Sweden-based Hazelight Studios for their recent project “It Takes-Two”. Although the appeal was later abandoned, their actions irked fans who perceived them as excessive.

The issue arose because Hazelight Games used the words “Takes-Two” which is similar to the Take-Two Interactive (company’s name). In fact, Hazelight Studio’s “It Takes-Two” is also nominated for the Game of the Year in the 2021 The Game Awards. The title released by EA has received brilliant reviews from all quarters and is one of the biggest hits of 2021.

Take-Two Interactive copyright disputes and fans’ reaction to it

Moments after journalist Ben Turpin tweeted about the legal development, fans flooded the replies with angry responses. Turpin covers Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive. Some of the responses from fans labelled the move ‘anti-gaming’, along with more expressive words like ‘disgusting’ and ‘pathetic’.

One comment pointed out the irony of the situation and stated, “‘it takes two’ is literally a song by Marvin Gaye and Kim Weston lol, they should sue Take Two for using their name instead.”
