Why is my Spotify wrapped not showing up?

SPOTIFY’S hotly-anticipated annual roundup of the world’s music tastes has had a bumpy start to life.

Wrapped 2021, which rolled out today, isn’t showing up for thousands of users keen to find out who their top artists of the year were.

It’s led to a flurry of furious complaints on social media, with one Twitter user branding the streaming app “garbage” over the apparent bug.

Every year, Spotify users get a list of artists, songs and podcasts they listened to most throughout the year.

The application generates a list based on data it collects from total minutes listened and listen-count.

Spotify’s 2021 Wrapped rolled out on December 1, with users told that their personalised lists are available through the Spotify app.

In previous years, the lists have been available on Spotify’s website. It appears the new system is having teething troubles.

Many users are reporting that Wrapped 2021 isn’t showing up when they open the app, despite supposedly launching hours ago.

One Twitter user fumed: “B***h why tf is my #SpotifyWrapped not working”.

Another wrote: “HOW DO U GET SPOTIFY WRAPPED WHY IS MINE NOT WORKING”.

And a third said: “Spotify wrapped is f**king garbage im leaving”.

It’s not clear what’s causing issues with the feature. It’s likely just a consequence of it gradually rolling out to users over several hours.

The Sun has reached out to Spotify for comment.

On Twitter, one user suggested that those struggling to access Wrapped 2021 need to follow these simple steps.

First, open safari and click on the Spotify wrapped 2021 web page.

Once you have done this there should be a button that says ‘Download Spotify’.

If you have the app already it will open your 2021 wrapped straight away, if you don’t then simply download it.

Spotify’s year-in-review feature debuted in 2015 by the name of Your Year in Music and was renamed Wrapped in 2017.

The feature uses data collected from the app’s 360million users from January 1 to October 31 each year.

As well as personalised top albums and artists, the Swedish streaming giant reveals the year’s most popular music across the globe.

This year, Olivia Rodrigo’s Driver’s License and Lil Nas X’s MONTERO topped the global charts for the most streamed tracks.

In other news, scammers are tricking victims into handing over thousands of pounds by posing as their close family members on WhatsApp.

Samsung is reportedly killing off its beloved Note smartphone after more than a decade.

Apple has announced that it will let customers fix their own iPhones for the first time starting next year.

And, the UK is fighting an epidemic of hack attacks targeting consumers and businesses, according to officials.
