How to reboot my TiVO box

Power reboot

There are a couple of ways that you can reboot your TiVO if it isn’t working.

First off all turn off you TiVO box – the on/off button is on the bottom of the box.

Leave the box off for 15 seconds, turn it back on again and wait for the welcome screen.

If the issue persists, use your TiVo Box remote to turn on and off the box again and see if that fixes the issue.

HDMI reboot

If the restart procedure fails to work, the next step is to unplug all cables from the TiVo box and the TV.

Start by detaching the HDMI cable from your TV set and from your TiVO box.

Wait for 15 to 20 seconds then reattach all the cables firmly back into the box and the TV.

Turn on your TiVO box and see if the issue persists.

If the problem is still there, swap the HDMI cable from HDMI 1 port to HDMI 2 port on your TV and try again.

Why is Virgin Media down?

On December 2, 2021 issues with Virgin Media reported across the country, with hot spots in London, Birmingham, Nottingham and Manchester.

Customers were reporting a TV blackout and also said there were WiFi issues, but Virgin said its internet services are not affected.

The company’s website also crashed today, but it’s unclear whether that’s due to the outage or because of a surge in customers visiting the page.

A Virgin Media spokesperson said: “We’re aware of an issue currently affecting TV services and are working hard to resolve this as quickly as possible.”
