UFC Fight Night: Font vs Aldo- Brendan Allen vs Chris Curtis: Prediction and Analysis

UFC middleweight Brendan Allen and Chris Curtis have received the main card assignment for UFC Vegas 44. The fight card is headlined by a pivotal bantamweight clash between Rob Font and Jose Aldo, who are making a run towards the title. While neither Allen nor Curtis are in that position just yet, they will want to put their best foot forward.

The middleweight division is looking for new contenders to storm the ranks and both men have the potential to make a run. Undisputed champion Israel Adesanya is quite active and has been clearing out contenders frequently. Fans will certainly be excited to see some new faces being injected into the top ranks of the division.

Allen comes in with a 17-4 record and is currently riding a two-fight win streak. His most recent defeat came at the hands of Sean Strickland back in February 2020 via TKO due to punches. Prior to that loss, he was on a monstrous 7-fight win streak and is 9-1 in his last 10 outings. Not to mention, he holds wins over notable names like Kevin Holland and Kyle Daukaus.

‘All in’ Allen is versatile on the feet and can find a home with an overhand with just the right amount of extension. Chiefly, it’s his forward, pressing footwork that has paid the most dividends thus far in his career.

Chris Curtis is extremely experienced as well, coming in with a 27-8 overall professional record. Impressively, the ‘Action Man’ is on a 6-fight win streak and defeated Phil Hawes via first-round KO when he fought last in his UFC debut. He’s yet to be tested in the UFC and has fought extensively in other promotions, including the PFL.

Curtis has faced names like Belal Muhammad, Ray Cooper III, and Kyle Stewart during his extensive career that started in 2009. His durability is a massive asset, and he’s able to enter into striking range with relative ease. Not to mention, when pushed up against the cage, Chris Curtis is someone who can dominate in close spaces.
