‘Matter Of Weeks’: Steve Kerr Provides Major Update On Klay Thompson as He Nears NBA Return

The Golden State Warriors have found their calling this season. Having the best start since their record 73 wins season, they are truly on fire. Moreover, they are yet to reach their full potential. With Klay Thompson and James Wiseman yet to step on the floor, the Warriors still have more in their bag.

Now, there is a major update on Klay Thompson, as it proves that he is almost ready to get back on the court.

Klay was one of the best players in the world when he played. Being a two way guard, he caught fire from deep while defending really well. However, a series of injuries have kept him away from the game for two seasons. His last game came against the Toronto Raptors in the NBA finals in 2019.

Since then, it has been a long process of rehab for Thompson. Now he is almost at the finish line.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr explained just how close Thompson is to returning as he keeps impressing with his on court workout.

Klay Thompson is ready to go

After two long years, the time has finally come for Klay to lace up once again. After battling knee and ACL injuries, the sharpshooter is ready to go. His on court shooting looks as smooth as ever as he can’t wait to get back on the court.

Kerr said: “Now, it’s literally a matter of weeks, so he’s in good spirits, he had a great weekend in Santa Cruz. It’s wonderful to see him happy and playing, but these last few weeks are going to be maybe the hardest time of all because he feels like he is ready to play right now. So he is still anxious to get out there.”

Hs return will add a whole new dimension to the Warriors. While he may not peak right away, it will give a relief to Curry on the floor. Defenses will need to look at Klay as well as Steph. This is where the splash brothers get truly dangerous because they both don’t need the ball to dominate the game.

Having two dangerous perimeter threats will heighten their already skillful lineup.

Moreover, the Warriors’ defense will also take a major boost, and they are already one of the best defensive teams. Thompson is a former All Defensive Second Team member. He can guard most guys and has the ability to slow them down. There is no doubt that the return of the splash brothers is going to cause havoc in the league once again.
