Who left Strictly Come Dancing last week?

It isn’t long until the final (Picture: BBC)

The 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing has been bringing the glitz and glamour to Saturday nights.

The standard has been very high in a series that has seen the likes of EastEnder’s Rose Ayling-Ellis and presenter AJ Odudu astound the judges week after week.

As the show moves ever closer to the final, it won’t be long until one of the celebrity-professional couples are crowned the winners and lift the coveted Glitter Ball trophy.

But who went out last week, who remains, and who is currently the favourite to win?

Here is everything you need to know…

Who left Strictly last week?

Last week saw social media influencer Tilly Ramsay – daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay – leave the competition after her Samba failed to impress the judges.

She narrowly missed out on a place in the quarter-final after being pitted against CBBC presenter Rhys Stephenson in the dreaded dance-off.

Speaking after her elimination, Tilly only had positive things to say about her experience and her time with dance partner Nikita Kuzman.

I’d just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has made this an amazing, positive journey for me’ she said.

‘From everyone here to backstage, wardrobe, makeup and camera crew. It’s just been the most extraordinary time. I found out something about myself that I didn’t know I could do, I didn’t know I could dance and have fun like this.’

When asked what she’d like to say to Nikita, Tilly heaped on the praise.

‘Thank you, thank you, thank you. It’s just been amazing. I really meant it when I said I made a best friend for life’ she said.

‘You’ve just been incredible. Thank you for the best couple of weeks.’

Nikita was then asked if he had any words for Tilly and said: ‘I’m just grateful for everything, for the whole Strictly team, for the production team, for the costume, for the make-up, for everything. Thank you guys, thank you to the professionals and cast, and a huge, huge thank you to Tilly.’

Which couples are still in Strictly 2021?

As the show moves into the quarter-finals, only five couples remain:

Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni PerniceAJ Odudu and Kai WiddringtonJohn Whaite and Johannes RadebeDan Walker and Nadiya BychkovaRhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu

Rose and Giovanni are the clear favourites to win at odds of 1/5, while Dan Walker is deemed most likely to be eliminated next with exit odds of 8/11.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: ‘Dan has got to know this position in the betting all too well over the last four weeks, yet he’s made something of a habit of defying the odds up to this point, while Rhys has survived a staggering three dance-offs already this series.

‘Punters are convinced the latter will be sent packing, while the odds suggest Dan’s time is up… we’d be surprised to see anyone else in the bottom two this weekend’ he added.

Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight at 6:40pm on BBC One.
